Visitor Info: Is there any Important Information for Visitors?

On Sundays FBC has one morning Service (11:00 AM), Sunday School (9:45 AM), and evening service (6:30 pm).  It is helpful to arrive a few minutes early for parking and to ensure your preferred seat.  Before the 11:00 service, Greeters are located at both entrances to the Sanctuary to answer any questions and provide you with a bulletin for the service.

We ask that all visitors leave a record of their attendance by filling out the perforated "Welcome" card in their bulletins if they should so choose.

Parking: Where do I park?

There are reserved spots for visitors in the lot right beside the sanctuary facing College Street.  There are other parking options available in one of our 3 side lots.  Handicapped parking is available along the Sanctuary.

Transportation: How do I get There?

If you or someone you know needs a ride to and/or from FBC Sunday Mornings, Sunday Nights, Wednesday Nights, or special events please call the church office (Mon-Thurs).  You may also call Joe Porter (789-7210), or Darrell Lemaster (794-2489) to schedule a ride.

Dress: What do people wear?

Clothes!  We only ask that you dress comfortably but modestly.  You can dress up or dress down, just come as you are ready to worship God.

Worship Style: What style of Worship do you offer?

Biblical.  From Traditional Hymns to modern Choruses our concern is that the words are biblical and the service is Spirit led.

Babies & Children: What about my children?  Is There Something for them?

The FBC Nursery (0-2) is open at all services including Sunday School (9:45 AM), 11:00 AM, 6:30 PM, Wednesday night, and any special events.  Our staff would love to serve you by caring for your child during your visit if you should so choose.  Preschoolers age 3 to 6 years can participate in Preacher Pals during the 11:00 AM Service.

We have Sunday School classes for children of all ages as well as Nursery (0-3), TeamKid (Ages 4yrs -3rd grade), Junior Youth (Grades 4-6),  and Youth (Grades 7-12) on Sunday Nights at 6:30.

Sunday School: Is it important? What is it?

Yes, Sunday School is important!  Sunday School Classes are available for you and/or all members of your family, and can provide you the opportunity to learn more about God in a small relational environment.  These Classes offer an opportunity for you to meet new people and to make lasting friendships with those, who, like you, are seeking fellowship and spiritual growth.

Salvation: What do I need to be saved from?

Hell.  The Bible tells us "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23a) where death means eternal separation from God in Hell.  The Bible also tells us that "For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." (Romans 3:23).  So we all deserve to die, because we have all sinned.  But wait, there's hope!  The end of Romans 6:23 tells us "but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."  How does this work?

Membership: What's the big deal?

If you have questions regarding membership, please contact our church office.

Membership is important.  Just as Christ is committed to his church, we are called to be committed to our local church body.  The local Church is a gathering of baptized believers who are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:42-47, 5:11).

Church Membership is a covenant relationship between a local body of born-again baptized believers and an individual Christian in which the church gives affirmation to the Christian's profession of faith and promises to provide oversight of the Christian, and the Christian promises to gather with that church, submit to its oversight, and actively participate in the oversight of other members of that church.

Membership consists of those who have confessed Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord and have followed him in Scriptural baptism, which is by immersion only.

You become a member of FBC Paintsville by:

  1. Receiving Christ and be baptized by immersion.
  2. Letter from another Baptist Church of like faith and order
  3. Statement of faith from another denomination stating baptism by immersion.
  4. Statement of faith from another denomination and requesting to be baptized by immersion.
